In 2005 I became an independent consultant, working under the DBA Catanich Professional Services. In 2006 I formed a limited liability corporation in Texas, Catanich Professional Services, LLC.

Houston, Texas

  • Worked on a team that developed a “preconfigured solution” for the Oil and Gas Services Industry in ECC 6.0.

  • Using SAP “Best Practices” as a starting point, tailored and right-sized SAP-PM for smaller, fast-moving companies that provide equipment rentals and services to Oil and Gas producing companies.

  • Wrote end-to-end BPP’s for integrated testing and certification purposes.

  • Worked with other consultants to trouble-shoot problems and devise solutions.

  • Assisted client in obtaining certification of the solution from SAP America.

Wyeth Vaccines,
Sanford, North Carolina

  • Assisted the client in developing a prototype for “Integrated Scheduling” of production, maintenance, and equipment re-qualification orders.

  • Assisted with business process mapping exercises of the current and desired “to-be” business processes.

  • Configured new order types required to support the to-be process.

  • Documented all Plant Maintenance configuration updates required for the new business processes.

  • Assisted in designing configuration changes to the R/3 Planning Board.

  • Assisted with an effort to establish performance-based maintenance based on equipment operating hours, rather than a fixed calendar schedule.

Martin-Baker America,
Johnstown, Pennsylvania

  • Provided consulting services to enable this client to implement Plant Maintenance as a replacement for a legacy system that was being retired.

  • Documented necessary business processes in MS-Visio. Designed and documented configuration.

  • Tested configuration and obtained client sign-off.

  • Guided client through process of cleaning-up and adding to legacy equipment data. Designed functional location hierarchy.

  • Developed master data documentation and trained client to input all necessary data objects.

  • Developed preventive maintenance program from legacy data and implemented this in SAP.

  • Developed extensive “how-to” documentation to allow client to function independently after my departure.

Honeywell Specialty Materials,
Victoria, British Columbia,

  • Led implementation of SAP PM at a specialized facility in Victoria, British Columbia.

  • Site grows sapphire crystals and develops specialty products such as missile lenses, substrates for high-brightness led’s, and other custom applications.

  • Assisted maintenance manager with development of functional location/equipment hierarchy.

  • Advised on developed of material, functional location, and equipment bills of material.

  • Advised maintenance manager on strategic approaches to preventive maintenance in SAP and assisted with development of the master data.

  • Tailored standardized SOP’s for local use.

  • Developed custom training materials and conducted training. Conducted vertical integration testing.

Honeywell Specialty Materials,
San Leandro, California

  • Led implementation of SAP PM at three small and highly specialized sites in the Sunnyvale, California area.

  • Plant Maintenance environment is untraditional and required a non-traditional “minimalist” implementation of the PM module.

  • Scaled standardized SOP’s and business process flows to right-size them for this plant.

  • Worked with maintenance managers to develop the functional location/equipment hierarchies for each of the three sites.

  • Advised maintenance managers on and developed preventive maintenance program from legacy data and manual systems.

  • Developed training materials and conducted training.

  • Performed vertical integration testing.

  • Recommended configuration changes to improve readability of customized corporate reports.

Honeywell Specialty Materials,
Anderson, South Carolina

  • Assisted with the process of “carving out” three plants in South Carolina that had been sold to another corporation.

  • Process was complicated by the fact that only part of one of the plants was sold and retained and sold master data items had to be separated from each other.

  • Worked with plant employees to determine which data was to be retained by Honeywell and which was to be migrated to a new set of Maintenance and Planning Plants for shipment to the new owner.

  • Conducted vertical integration testing of migrated data.

  • Trained new personnel hired as part of spin-off process.

  • Worked with maintenance managers to develop the functional location/equipment hierarchies for each site.
